How do I stop calendar from initiating reminders?

I tried the Help instructions but cannot stop the calendar in Outlook 2003
from setting up a reminder each time I make a new entry. How can I do that?
 
There's a check box on the Tools menu > Options dialog. Uncheck it to remove
the default reminder for new appoinments
