I use autocorrect. When I typed in the abbrivation that I want to use and hit
the space bar to continue on with my sentence, word does a hard return to the
next line and I don't want it to do that.

It sounds as if you have saved a paragraph break as part of the AutoCorrect
entry.

It would seem that you have the paragraph mark included in the
replacement text of the AutoCorrect entry. You need to remove it.

First click the ¶ button on the toolbar so you can see the paragraph
marks. Insert the existing AutoCorrect. Select the text you want, but
be careful not to include the paragraph mark. Go to Tools >
AutoCorrect Options, where you'll see the selected text in the
replacement box. Insert the abbreviation in the box to its left, click
the Replace button, and answer Yes to the "Are you sure?" message.

Your information was helpful, Jay and I tried that but it still is doing a
hard return and when it does it puts the (.) on the next line.

I dried deletting all of my autocorrects that I have saved and starting over
with the suggestions of the last two that commented and it still is doing a
hard return when I hit the space bar or (.) Would appreciate any further
suggestions.

Suzanne,
Thank you for your help, it worked. I deleted it all and started over and it
seems to work now. Thank you.-Kim
