How Do I Stop an Update From Nagging Me?

I have notify me of updates turned on. I want it turned on, but some
updates I don't install. I this case I installed it and it screwed
multiple things up so I uninstalled it and restored to before
installation. Now the little gold shield with exclamation point stays
in my SysTray constantly and pops up 2-3 time a day saying "Updates
are ready for your computer." I keep batting it down, but it refuses
to go away. It's been doing this for 2-3 months now.

How do I make it stop nagging me to do something I don't want to do?

Hi

Control Panel>Security Center - on the right hand panel click "Change the
way Security Center alerts me".

I don't find anything there other turning updates off entirely. I
don't want to do that. I have chosen the "Notify me . . ." option.

Easy solution - click to install updates but select "custom" install rather
then "express" - clear checks - select option not to be reminded of updates
not selected.

Thanks. I'll try it.
