I have sorted my tables in ascending orders, but I cannot get the forms to
sort. When I select the field to use for the sort, I cannot find the sort
button. All the tool bars are showing. Where is the sort icon?

No. You haven't.

A Table is an unordered "bucket" of data. You can temporarily sort it
for display purposes, but Access is actually simply running a hidden
Query. The Form will display records in whatever order the table
optimizer finds convenient, unless you tell it to do otherwise.
Sorting the table datasheet will NOT affect this.

A form is JUST A WINDOW. You cannot "sort a form".

What you can do is base the Form on a Query (rather than directly on
your table), and sort that query alphabetically. Or, you can set the
Form's OrderBy property to the name of the field (or fields) that you
want to sort by - you can do this in form design view or using the
Records menu option.
