How do I "sign" - CERTIFICATE

Maureen

I have a few databases that I have delvelpoed with various reports and
things for our company. Having just moved our TServer to Access 2K3 I need
to eliminate the macro warnings when these are opened. I would rather not
disable the security setting on everything only on my databases. Any
direction would be appreciated!

M

I gather that the easiest way to sign an in-house database, is by using the
SELFCERT program to generate your own certificate. Then you needn't purchase
a certificate from an external authority (and pay $$$s for it!). You still
have to apply the certificate to your database. I do not personally know how
to do that. However, searching on SELFCERT will doubtless find more
information.

HTH,
TC

Within the Microsoft Access help topic "Digital Signature" it details how
to sign your database.

Thanks for your reply. I have created a certificate and it did the job. In
error I have created another one. How can I delete the uneeded cert?

M

Hi Maureen,

To remove Certificate from your computer do the following:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Tools > Internet Options
- Click the Content tab
- Then click Certificates (from here you can remove the certificate from
your computer)

To remove Certificate from your database do the following:
- Open a module in your database (or press ALT+F11)
- Select the menu option Tools > Digital Signature
