How do I show an email address in an Excel file that I can click on to open
a new outgoing message in Outlook Express?

Buzz

Hi
if Outlook is the defined email client just enter your email in a cell
(Excel should convert this to a Hyperlink)

I would have guessed that Frank's suggestion would have worked for you.

And Andy's suggestion should work, too:

=HYPERLINK("mailto:[email protected]","(e-mail address removed)")

But I'm wondering if simply typing:
mailto:[email protected]
Accomplishes the same thing.

And what does it didn't work mean?

Did Frank's suggestion insert the hyperlink, but it didn't start OE?
Or it didn't get converted to a hyperlink (clicking on it didn't do anything)?
Or it got converted to a hyperlink, but it didn't look like one?

Hi Dave,

Does XL97 support the automatic creation of hyperlinks?
It maybe a option that I have switched off, but I can't find the switch :(

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

I'm not too sure. I think it does, but it's been a while and I don't
have 97 anymore.

If It's not under Tools>options or AutoCorect then maybe it doesn't.

BTW, check out O'Reilly, the book is up and should be out within a week.

I think that this is one of those FAQ's about xl97--how to turn off the
automatic creation of hyperlinks. (The ability to turn it off was added later.)
