How do I show age for Birthdays?

Dave.

Hi, rcollins34 - a lot of other people would like to know how to get
Outlook to display "John's 12th birthday" as well!

‘Calendar Creator' could do it ten years ago with an "&Birthday"
function and a couple of mouse clicks.

It's a great shame Outlook does so little for the common man. You
would think someone at Microsoft would ask the guy on the street who
now gets Outlook with his new PC "What would you like to see it do?"
Instead all they seem to talk to is IT Professionals managing large
offices.

The page at http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/age_form.htm shows
perhaps it can be done, but the poor help in Outlook (again there is
no way they have user tested that on newbies!) and the indepth
knowledge required to make anything out of the above page, prevents me
from making any sense of it.

I don't want to learn to program Outlook - just get the it to do a
very simple age calculation and display the result in a sentence on a
calendar.

If you (or any other kind reader) do come up with a solution, please
post it!

Thanks for your efforts, Dave.

Win XP. Outlook 2002.

The reason that the IT guys get more attention is that Outlook is first and
foremost the client for Exchange. More home users are likely to have
Microsoft Works that has its own calendar.

Second, the example page that you cite has a form you can already download.
It requires no programming, just reading and the ability to follow
directions.

Programming Outlook is not difficult and allows you to create custom
solutions for you that no one else would want or understand. Try creating a
new form. Tools->Forms->Design a form. Contact forms are a good place to
start.
