I believe the article 242537 is talking about sharing Outlook 2000 contacts
with Outlook Express for Windows 98 "on the local pc" and not across the
network with other users.
Three computers
1 xp pro outlook express/outlook 2000
2 win98se using outlook express.

How can I share my outlook 2000 contacts with the 2 win98se computers using
outlook express?
Hell... even my WAB for that matter.
outlook 2000 is installed in corporate/wg mode.
Thank you in advance for any pointers.

You can't share them live since a PST file can only be open by one machine
at a time. You might have to do exports/imports to keep things sync'd. Is
more than one person changing things?

Thank you for the input.
two of the three users are making changes
Constant exports/imports is too risky.
What, other than exchange can I use so they have a central address book?
On an unrelated note, I remember using something in outlook called Net
Folders a few years back. There is no "share this folder" option anymore.?
Corp/WG mode is installed.

Scalix does indeed have shared address book support. It's quite close
to the way Exchange works, even down to the quality of its Outlook
support. Depending on how you want to do this, you could either use a
"shared directory" (with ACLs) or store an Outlook contacts folder in a
public folder.

Scalix also has a replacement for OWA, which is a lot nicer to use.
Predictably it's called SWA (Scalix Web Access). Many of my consulting
clients are moving most of their Outlook users onto SWA.
