I am not using an exchange server but want to share
contacts between two computers. Both are running Windows
XP Home (not my choosing, im doing it for a friend and her
boss) and can share resources. Is it possible with out an
exchange server and if so how and what version do i use or
is there a good website to look at to tell me how. If
Outlook can't do it, are there any other programs that
can. They only use it for contacts to merge in Word, they
do not use it for a mail client.

To the best of my knowledge there is not syncronization program for to PST
files on separate computers. (If anyone is aware of one I would like to
know about it). However, if you have a handheld device (ex. Palm, iPaq,
etc.) that you can sync with Outlook then you can use it as a bridge between
your too machines.

I have done this but there are some things to watch out for when you start.
If you already have some names in both installs of Outlook then you will
likely get them doubled when you sync in this way. It works best if you
delete all the contacts from the one machine that has the poorer list of
contacts. Then sync from the good contact list to the handheld and then
sync from the handheld to the other install of Outlook.

Hope this helps.
