I upgraded to 2000 from 98 and want to share my drive on
my network. I have not setup my network yet, but on my 98
comp. I was able to click on the drive and then enable
sharing. I cant do that with 2000, but I dont know why
that option is not avalable. PLz help me.

It is pretty much the same for W2K. Make sure you have file and print
sharing installed and enabled on your network adapter in Control
Panel/network connections. You will also need to have user accounts on your
W2K machine that match the logon name/password for users trying to access
your shares from their computers unless you enable the guest account which
will allow anyone access as long as there are share and ntfs permissions for
the everyone group. Enabling the guest account is not recommended unless ALL
users on the network are trusted and you are protected from the internet by
a firewall such as a cable/dsl router device which you should be using
anyhow. --- Steve

The root of every drive is automatically shared as the drive letter followed
by $. Access it using the UNC path.
