How do I setup a search function in FP 2003?

Use of FP run time components (like the search) requires a site hosted on a server running the FP Server Extensions and publishing
via FP in http mode

|I used the basic Search Function included in the Web components list for a
| website I am developing for my boss, however it returns only a 404 page when
| published. The address is
| http://www.maxfoxelectrical.com.au/Contact Us/SearchPage.htm if you want to
| have a look. I have altered only the length of the search string from 20 to
| 50 characters.

So how do I go about doing that?? At the moment the website is uploaded to
the host server using Filezilla.

Does your host have or support the FP SE?
- if not, you can't, and you can't use any FP Run time components

It didn't initially, however we recently migrated to a frontpage compatible
server, and I'm no longer getting a 404 page, however Im getting
"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web
server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish
this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."

What's the error??

Did you or the host apply the FP SE to the site server and then open the site in FP to resave your form & test it

No. I just tried to to do that then, and it didnt change anything. I did an
upload with FP this morning, and I'm no longer getting the Run TIme error
message, however Im nto gettig any results. When I enter in a keyword that
should dozens of hits, im getting "No files or documents found."

This is the coding under the search form
"<!--webbot bot="Search" S-Index="www.maxfoxelectrical.com.au"
S-Fields="Weight" S-Text="Search for:" I-Size="50" S-Submit="Start Search"
Location="www.maxfoxelectrical.com.au" S-Clear="Reset"
S-TimestampFormat="%d/%m/%Y" TAG="BODY" b-useindexserver="0" -->"

And this is the actual page itself

Ok, I deleted the offending search page and started again. IO read through
the "instructions" on creating a search page on the MSO website and have left
the dedault as being "all" but when I published the page, it came up with the
same result...."No Documents Found"

If your site is on a windows server running Index Catalog, have your host create an Index Catalog and ten set the search to use the
catalog

I found out that Google has a search code that you can apply to your web page
so I'm using that and it's working ok. Thanks for all the help though guys.
