I used Outlook 2000 in my old laptop, and just got a new one with a trial
version of Outlook 2003. I configured my 2 work email accounts with the exact
same names, passwords, settings, etc. as in the old computer, and get an
error message when I do the "Test Account Settings" telling me that "The
specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please
verify that the port and SSL information is correct." Is there a difference
between the settings from 2000 to 2003? I looked in MS Help all afternoon,
called their help line, was told that since it was a bundled trial software
there was no support. They transferred my call to HP, and from there went to
MSN (my ISP) and to Qwest (who provides it here), and then back to MS - 85
minutes later I was no wiser, and can still not use my new laptop for work
emails (my MSN account works fine, both through Outlook 2003 and through the
MSN page). How can I get up and running? The HP support person suggested
halfway seriously that I revert to Outlook 2000 on the new laptop.
