Use proper punctuation and capitalization when posting. Use the same
style to compose posts as when composing a grade-critical essay to
your school teacher. Usenet (newsgroups) are not prattle/chat rooms
or cell phone texting.

- Do you have a free of paid Hotmail account?

You cannot use plain-vanilla Outlook to connect to free Hotmail
accounts. WebDAV access to free Hotmail accounts was discontinued
back in November 2004. WebDAV is the scripting language used by
Outlook and Outlook Express to talk to Microsoft's HTTP servers
(Hotmail). You need a paid Hotmail account to use Outlook without the
help of plug-ins; otherwise, you are stuck using the webmail interface
to Hotmail.

WebDAV was considered insecure so Microsoft came up with another
protocol call DeltaSync (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeltaSync) to
communicate with their HTTP servers but Outlook does not support it
yet. Windows Live Mail does support the new protocol but is much more
like Outlook Express than Outlook. In Outlook, you can get support
for DeltaSync by installing the Outlook Connector plug-in. It is
available from Microsoft's download web site
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads; search on "outlook connector").
After you install the plug-in, you will need to use that plug-in to
create an account in Outlook to access your new free Hotmail account.

The Outlook Connector plug-in is only supported in Outlook 2003 &
2007. If you have an old MSN Hotmail account, you will need to
convert it to a Hotmail Live account (your e-mail address remains the
same).

- WHICH version of Outlook do you have?

- WHICH version of Windows do you have?

- Have you read Hotmail's help web pages?

Control Panel->Mail Icon->Accounts->New. Type->HTTP. Everything else is obvious. If this is Outlook 2003 or 2007, you can use a free hotmail account with the Outlook Connector. If an earlier version, you can only use a paid Hotmail account.

After furious head scratching, mary jeppesen asked:

But only if you convert to a Live Hotmail account first....

It still needs manual conversion? Haven't they all been changed by now?

No I don't think so....and I believe there's the option to revert to the
classic Hotmail on the website...

Translating your post into language OP can understand:
control panel mail icon accounts new type http everything else is obvious if
this is outlook 2003 or 2007 you can use a free hotmail account with the
outlook connector if an earlier version you can only use a paid hotmail
account

OP should understand it better now.

And how do you understand a post that totally lacks basic English grammar and sentence construction as your post displays?

It was a joke.

PD43 said:
Nope... and his post was unreadable. No punctuation.

That was his point. Read mary's original post. Do you see
punctuation (or capitalization) in that post, either? So he converted
Milly's post into the same style tha that mary used. If mary writes
that way then she must understand her own style of writing.

The post in question was a reply from "John" to Milly. John
"translated" Milly's post to one with no punctuation supposedly to
make it easier for the OP to read.

Right. The OP was mary. That's what Vanguard was saying.
