I would like to set up a TOC that uses the 'tree' functionality, where i can
expand and collapse the TOC as needed. Is this possible inside of MS Word?
Thanks for your help in advance

Hi M. Kincaid

Investigate the Document Map at View > Document Map. However, I only
recommend using this if (a) you have Word 2002 or later and (b) you have
formatted your document with the built-in heading styles. Before Word 2002,
it is prone to causing crashes. In all versions of Word, Document Map will
display truly weird results if your document is not formatted with the
appropriate styles. But it does give you a multi-level clickable table of
contents.

Hope this helps.
