How do I set up a timed slide-show on a single slide?

Trying to create a presentation with movie file centered with picture files
at edges of movie that must fade in and out in a timed sequence on the same
slide as the movie file. Any ideas?
 
Set up the movie and then you just need to add "With previous" fade in and
exit fades to the pictures and then give each animation a suitable delay
(double click > timing tab). You might find that timing isn't exactly
consistent though but it should be close also the movie will play in front of
the pics so don't overlap them.
