How do I set up a database of workers and their skills?

I work for an employment agency and the skills data base that we use
currently is a pain in the ass. I would like to set one up in Access but
don't know how.
 
if you don't have any experience in building relational databases, you're
setting quite a task for yourself. learning how to use the Access software
is only the half of it. and teaching you either half, or both halves, from
the ground up, is beyond the scope of this forum. suggest you take a look at
http://home.att.net/~california.db/tips.html, especially Tip#1 and Tip#2.

these newsgroups are a great resource when you want to ask for help with
specific questions/problems.
