how do I set up a custom time scale in Outlook (every 8 mins)

your message is unclear... please clarify what output you need to get from
this time scale?

Sorry to have been unclear. In the day view I can choose to divide 60, 30,
15, 10, 6, 5 minute gaps. Is it possible to set Outlook to split the whole 24
hours into 8 min gaps? I understand that the "hour" display would no longer
be correct, but I think our office can live with that.

No, the time variables are hard coded.
