Click the "Invite Attendees" button or do a Meeting Request (File | New |
Meeting Request) instead of a standard Appointment item.

Cc = Optional attendee

There is no Bcc per se in a meeting request, since what would be Bcc is Resources.

Or create the appointment then forward it to whomever you like.

Using the recommended approaches adds the meeting to the recipient's calendar
which is probably not desired for a cc/bcc.

We've used the following workaround:

Create the meeting and send it to attendees.
Go to Actions | Reply with message.
Delete the To: line information and enter your cc and bcc.
Send it out.

Has anyone found a better way to do this.

More and more frequently we need to document to senior staff that meetings
have ben set up. Automating this process by allowing for a third category of
addressees would be very helpful.

I would suggest that there be "required", "optional" and "notified" contacts.

I strongly agree and second this suggestion.

I too agree and Third this suggestion to get a bcc field created!
I have staff who prepare information for meetings they don't attend.
They're my behind the scenes people who need to know when the mtg is but
can't be on the invite. How do we get this brought to someone's attention?

I know this answer was posted "some time ago", but I just stumbled upon it
and it
satisfied my "difficult" user...this forum is awesome, and I'm so thankful
for the
tricks it offers. Thank you "D" for this workaround. I add my vote for the
need to
"notify" without "scheduling" someone!
