How do I set permissions on a drive that is shared

Looking through old KB articles and my old knowledge it appears that SP2 has
removed some functionality for setting share permissions on a drive - or
maybe it is just moved and I cannot find it.

ISSUE: Both drives are shared so my wife and I can access all files on our
desktop machine from our laptops through our wireless network. We now want to
set permissions so that others in the house cannot access those shares while
they are on the network.

How do I do that?

Thanks in advance

Uncheck the Allow box for Everyone for read and/or write access. Also for users that you don't want accessing the files. You can also simply remove entire groups/users, then add the users that you do want to have access. Make sure you add your user account before you remove your group. Additionally, don't use Deny. Used incorrectly, it can lock you out as well. Instead, and particularly when dealing with Groups, just uncheck Allow.

I don't see those options - perhaps we have some user error on my behalf.

I right mosue click on the D drive from My Computer
I go to the properties dialog
I click on the sharing tab

I only have a couple of check boxes
- Make this folder private (which is unavailable)
- Share this folder on the network
- Allow network users to change my files

I figured the last choice would do the trick, but it doesn't.

I am running Windows XP Professional - Version 5.1 Service Pack 2

Thanks

David
