Is the out of office reply feature available in Outlook 2002? If not, where
do I go to purchase this feature? Can't find anything in the Microsoft
search.

This feature requires Microsoft Exchange.

On the Tools menu, click Out of Office Assistant.
Click I am currently Out of the Office.
In the AutoReply only once to each sender with the following text box, type
the message you want to send to others while you are out.
If you want, create rules to manage your incoming mail.

If you are not using Microsoft Exchange, please post what you are using....

Sorry I don't know how or where to do this.

What are you sorry for....that is why this discussion group is here...did
that solve your question?

In MS Outlook at the top of the screen there are name of menus. One of them
is "Tools", click on that and then follow the directions below.

No i mean I don't know how to check and see if I'm running Exchange. I'm
obviously not since I've tried your original suggesedtion with no sucess. The
option is not there in my current set-up.

Are you using this at work or at home? If you are at home, you might
actually be using Outlook Express which is different than MS Outlook. If
you are using Outlook Express, I'm sorry I can't help you.... If you are at
work, I would talk to the network administrator. If you are using a pop3
server to send email, there is an option while on the web site that is your
"mail box" where you can set up an out of office reply, just like in Outlook
on your desktop. It's pretty complicated because you have to log in to the
email system through the internet and there are passwords and account names
that you would need to know to get started. I hope this helps...

Home office. Running XP Office Home edtion. I am on a pop3 server, but
running Outlook. I have seen and used the SBC Yahoo "out of office" but it
does not work well, it's complicated, and it appears to have to be set-up
each incident. I'm looking for a desk top one-two clicks and go. Do I have a
choice in running POP3 or exchange? I would be willing to reconfigure if I
could get this feature.
