How do I set my CPU to it's maximum speed (A7N8X)

I have the A7N8X asus m/board with the AMD Athlon 2800+ CPU and I don't
appear able to set the CPU speed to more than 2.075Ghz (166mhz x12.5) via
the Bios.
Can the CPU be set to run faster than this and if so how?

That is the correct speed.

Peter.

The A7N8X can not change the 5th bit of the multiplier, this means
depending on the default multiplier of the processor installed you will
have a choice of multipliers of "up to 12.5x" or "13x and greater", for
example a Barton 2500+ or Barton 2800+ couldn't use anything higher then
12.5x on this board without a modification to the CPU or motherboard.

Raise the FSB.

Cheers,
Ed

If you can't lower the multiplier then your CPU is locked, you can still
raise the FSB though.
