The HTML pages saved from the Internet are saved with a folder containing
files used by that page. When I delete the folder from Windows Explorer, the
associated html file also get deleted.
How do I set IE6 so that an html file and relevant folder are disengaged and
can
be deleted independently?

You don't.

As an experiment try copying what you want to keep to another Windows
folder.

See my response to your question in Windows2000.general. Please post
questions to one newgroup only. Multi-posting fragments the discussions
and wastes everyone's time.
