How do I set DNS Server?

I have a Compaq Presario running Win98SE that all of the sudden can't
access the internet. I just recently installed a LINKSYS Wireless PCI
card but after uninstalling the wireless card I still can't access the
internet. (There is also a wired connection.)

I have the computer set up to use DHCP and that appears to be working
since it has been assigned an IP on th eLAN. I can ping to IPs on my
local network and outside of it but I cannot ping any URLs like
"yahoo.com". Running winipcfg and ipconfig I see that the DNS Server
is set to 0.0.0.0 which I know is a problem (without a valid DNS
Server it can't resolve properly) however I can't figure out how or
why to set that. On my other computers I did not have to set that
specifically, I didn't think. SO why would I need to on this one?
Everything else looks ok. What is going on? How can I resolve this?

Right-click on Network Neighbourhood, choose properties, then left-click
TCP/IP and choose properties - one of the tabs shows if you have selected a
primary DNS server and what number or name you have specified.

You can also go into Dial-up networking and right click your internet
connection. Under the "Server Types" tab click TCP/IP and check to see if
the IP Address and DNS Server are Sspecified or Server Assigned. Usually
server assigned these days.

If all else fails set up a new connection from Dial-up networking and see if
you can connect with it - if not you will know you've probably got a
hardware issue.
