I want to move 8 large directories (all in the root directory) from drive E
to drive D. Windows Explorer will not allow me to select (highlight) more
than one directory name. If I can highlight (using the control- or shift-
key) the names of several files within a directory for moving, why can't I
similarly highlight the names of several directories for moving? I am
running Windows XP Pro SP1.

I have tried using the move command in a DOS windows, but it does not
accept wildcards.

How are you selecting the folders?

In the 2 pane Windows Explorer window, click the Drive in the left window to
display the folders in that drive in the right window. In the right window,
select the folders to move using the click+CTRL key method.

Ronnie,

How simple! Why I was trying to select the directories in the left-hand
pane rather than the right, I can't imagine. Got blinded by a bad habit
I guess. In any event, many thanks.
