how do I scroll the mail window on Outlook email screen?

I am new at using Outlook for email. I was an OE user. I would like to be
able to use the mouse scroll wheel to move up and down in the window of
Outlook that shows all the folders of emails. How can I do this?
 
Select the Outlook window, hover with your mouse cursor over a scrollable
field and simply scroll.
If this will actually work will depends more on your used mouse driver than
on Outlook though.
