How do I save an iCal (ics) item in outlook 2007 calendar format?

I've just moved to Outlook 2007 and on opening iCal items online that I used
to be able to save to my Outlook 2003 calendar, they now save as a whole new
calendar, rather than just an appointment within my existing calendar.

Anyone know what I need to do to change that?

Thanks

Elizabeth

Try saving the ics file to your HDD and importing it into your Outlook
Calendar..

Thanks for the suggestion, but this doesn't work.

Anyone else have any ideas? others must be finding the same problem.

Thanks

Can you be a bit more vague? What EXACTLY does "doesn't work" mean?

I meant this doesn't solve the problem I outlined - the iCal item continues
to open as a calendar, rather than as an appointment.

what program has the calendar in it? can it save in ics format?
Hi Diane

It's when I try to add event details to my calendar from web pages such as a
Facebook event page or other website (when said site has an 'add to calendar'
option or similar).

Where are you opening it? How are you opening it? (Double click or Import)
Are you saving a single item or multiple items in the ical?

I am having the same problem that the op is encountering. Previously, when I would export a facebook ICS, the calendar item would open in outlook and I would save the calendar event and it would save to my calendar. Now, when I open the ics file, it opens up the event in a shared folder with the name of the event. Each event creates its own unique shared folder. I maintain one calendar and prefer when I add an event to add it to my primary calendar.
Please let me know if you need more information.
