That depends on what you are going to be doing with them. If you are CERTAIN
that you are going to be transferring them to another version of Outlook,
then in Outlook do File-New-Outlook Data File. Copy your contacts into the
new Personal folders. Close that file, then you can copy that to a floppy.
be warned that if you are using Outlook 2007, and there is a chance that
your next version of Outlook is 2002 or prior, you MUST create the new pst
file in 97-2002 format otherwise Outlook will not read it.
If you might be using any other mail client, like Outlook Express or
Thunderbird for example, your best bet is to export your contacts as a csv
file.

I am having the hardest time finding the export tool in OL 2007 I am trying
to export to a cvs file but the tool is missing from OL! What do I do????
Sorry to hijack the thread but I am desperate.

Should be File-Import/Export....

No export needed. Insert your floppy. In Outlook, click File>New>Outlook
Data File. Browse to the floppy and create a PST (Personal Folders file).
When finished with that, right-click your Contacts folder and choose "Copy
'Contacts'". Specify the root of the PST you added as the destination.
This will copy your entire Contacts folder tot he PST on the floppy. When
it completes, right-click the new PST and choose Close. Close Outlook and
eject the floppy. Mischief managed.

To add to Gordon's reply: When you say you want to save to a "floppy", you
should know that it is doubtful that all of your contacts will fit on a
1.44MB floppy disk (unless you have only a very few). A completely new .PST
file with no data in it is 256k. You may have to use some kind of external
drive or USB key to copy the contacts .PST to.

I really don't know why anybody uses floppy disks at ALL nowadays - on
several counts - reliability, cost, (2GB pendrive, £10 - 2GB of floppies
£140!!!!) and they last much longer than floppies.

That too :-)
