How do I save a file to PDF format in Word 2010

When I try to save the file in PDF format I get the message that the file is
being used by another user.

How do I save it to a PDF.file
 
Do you have Adobe Acrobat full version or just the reader? If you only have
the reader, you can't convert a document to pdf. If this is the case, you can
search the internet for some free software to do the conversions.
 
By chance, are you using Kaspersky as your virus scanner? If so, this is a
known issue. I'm not sure if they have an update for it but when I was using
Kaspersky I had to disable virus scanning in order to create a PDF from the
Office apps.
