I have also noticed from experimenting with this feature that it only works
if the recipient uses Outlook in a similar network environment (ie. in the
same company using the same exchange server). I stopped experimenting at
Outlook 2000, but I doubt things have changed.
I've needed this feature on several occasions and it has never retracted my
message, even though it behaved as if it was. My accidental recipients
always got the message...a very embarassing glitch in the system.

It's rare that it works. First, you and your recipient must both me on the
same Exchange server and second, your reipient must open the Recall message
first, before opening the message to be recalled.
Are you pulling down the Actions menu from WITHIN THE OPEN EMAIL? It
doesn't appear when you just highlight the message; only on the menu for an
open message.
Thanks very much, this is very helpful but when I go to recall the message I
get a note that says, "Because you are not the original sender you cannot
recall this message" but I am the original sender. I'm confused. Help?

So Bill has had a sex change and become Suzanne? Or might Suzanne be trying
to hijack Bill's thread instead of starting her own new thread?
