How do I reset motherboard password - HP Vectra VLi8 system ?

I've got a donated business system that's been locked down and asks
for a password when I try to boot of the CD drive. The manuals are
online at HP.com but I can't find the one that has the answer.

Pull the CMOS battery out and leave it out for about 15 minutes. If you can
find a CMOS clear jumper, move that to the clear position also. -Dave
