Hi Group!

I have had an Epson 900 in storage for a couple years. I really
expected it to not work work when I got it out of storage. I was
right!

No biggie, I hope. I got great advice from these groups about 5 years
ago when I needed to fix my 1988 HP-II printer. I got a new capacitor
from RatShack, and soldered it into place. Also, I got replacement
foam covered paper roller from a do-it-yourself help shop. THe
printer's worked fine since.

I hope to get similar helpful advice from these printer groups about
my Epson 900. I don't want to pay a couple hundred dollars to have it
repaired. After putting in new ink and multiple cleanings(over 20) it
still prints very poor.

Where can I get a replacement print head, and instructions?

THanks,
Rich

Printhead replacement for this and most Epson printers is a major task and
requires quite some skill and special software.
I strongly recommend that you first contact Art Entlich

e-printerhelp(at)mvps(dot)org

and ask him for a copy of his epson printhead cleaning manual, it is free and
he will not spam you. Give him a detailed description of the symptoms.
If his instructions do not result in a working printhead then e-mail me at the
above address and I will send you printhead replacement instructions and you
can make a decision to replace the printhead or not based on those
instructions.
Frankly I do not think it is worth it, but Art's manual is well worth reading
and following.

Thank you for the help, Tony!

You do not want to replace the head and you shouldn't need to. The head
is more expensive than the printer sells for these days, and the head
very likely can be unclogged.

Although I believe you have already contacted me privately using another
name, if not, please do so and I will send you instructions for
unclogging the head to your 900 printer.
