how do I reorder select members for distribution lists

When I go to select members for a new distribution list, is there a way to
display the listing in last name order? First names are not very useful, i.e.
I am looking through 25 "Bob's". I have tried to define views, etc but have
not been able to accomplish this.

That dialog abides by the same sort order you have set for your Outlook
Address Book.
I'll assume you know what that is. You did not post your Outlook version.

Sorry - outlook 2002. I have a drop down for Outlook address book but no
entries. Did I do something wrong when I imported addresses to contacts - how
do I correct.

No. The Outlook Address Book should appear empty. The Contacts Folder
beneath it contains your data.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

I understand what you are saying and have already done this. But the "Outlook
Address Book" is empty. Are you saying I should move the info from Contacts
to Outlook Address Book also and run both? That seems a duplication. I must
be missing something pretty simple here, but missing it I am. Help?

No. I'm saying no such thing. The Outlook Address Book is simply a view of
the electronic addresses that reside in your Contacts Folder. It contains no
data.
You have already done what? If you did what I posted, the Outlook Address
Book would be sorted by the method you chose in that dialog.

Got it - thank you.
