i'm trying to show information re my business contacts on the first, general,
screen. i don't need the info MS provides, but i do need info that is in
those places on the form - such as changing Company to Agency, or
Account to Server, or Office to RAC, or Department to TSA - these are
attributes we want to track and see on the first screen of a contact or
account.

Hi Joe,
Are you using BCM 2007, or BCM 2010 Beta? I think with BCM 2010 Beta
you can do this (I haven't tried renaming the default field names, but
you can add various new fields on the main form and remove any
existing fields that you don't need).
With BCM 2007, you can't do that. You can add new fields to the forms
but cannot rename or remove existing fields.

Hope that helps,
John

* if you haven't installed the 2010 Beta, I would encourage you to
give it a try... but remember two things: 1. it is a separate download
from the Office 2010 Beta... you will need to download the BCM 2010
Beta in addition to the Office Beta. 2. back up your data (export or
full database backup) while you are using Office/BCM 2007. Just in
case anything goes wrong, you won't be losing any of your existing
stuff. :) Good luck and let us know how it goes.
