How do I remove weekends from Calendar monthly view?

I have tried the Tool/Options/Calendar method where you uncheck Sat and Sun.
Closed Office, reopened it and weekends still appear in Monthly view.
Restarted XP Pro - made no difference.
 
You cannot remove weekends from monthly view - they are a part of the month.
