How do I remove those annoying lines?

Hello again. Does anyone know how I can erase a line in my Microsoft Word
Document? After I type certain things three times (like --- === or +++) and
hit Enter, a line will automatically appear. This is pretty nice, but
sometimes I want to erase that line and I can't no matter what I try. I
can't delete it or backspace it, I can't click on it or right click on it and
then do something else. The only thing I can do is move it by clicking and
dragging.

I'm sorry to ask a question like this but I couldn't find assistance in Word
Help. Thank you!

If the future, if you've got a question about Word, you might
want to post it in the Word newsgroup.

Meanwhile, try the following,

Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoFormat As You Type.
Remove the check mark from the box next to Borders.
Click OK.

Good luck

Do you have templates turned on? What version of Word are you using?

If you want Word not to Auto Format those borders automatically sometimes
then remain that "Auto Format As You Type" option checked. Next time, when
Word automatically complete that border instead of "====" sign, just press
CTRL+Z to undo Auto Format Changes.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!

I'm using the 97-2003 version. In Templates and add-ins its says my document
template is "normal".

I unchecked "border lines" (the closest thing I could find) and I don't think
that solved the problem. It was a good idea though.

I noticed something else here. The line alignment is different above and
below the == line. Above the line the format is aligned right and below it's
aligned left. When I try to make both sides of the line left aligned, then
the line moves up and is still a wall dividing different formats. That's
strange.

Oh wait! I found the answer in the Word help section. All I had to do was
select the area above the line and then go to Format -> Borders and Shading
-> and under Borders choose "None" for the Setting. I'm sorry that I didn't
check there before. I still have some trouble navigating this site for what
I'm looking for. Thanks for trying to help.

Kinda sounds like the spelling and grammer checkers are turned on.

If so, it won't print the extra lines.

Actually that didn't work for me either. Otherwise I would have solved my
problem long ago and never even came here. ^_^ Thanks anyway.
