How Do I Remove the EN Language Notation from the Welcome Screen?

I'm configuring a new installation of Windows XP Pro SP3. On the
welcome screen, when any user clicks on their icon, the letters "EN"
appear to the right of the password box. I know this is a feature
related to the language settings, but I don't find it useful and I'd
like to disable it. I've already turned off the language bar for all
users and I've turned off Advanced Text Services for all users, but
the "EN" continues to appear. Can anyone tell me how to disable it?

While doing research, I found two posts which address the exact same
issue, but neither offered a solution:

Update: I made the "EN" code go away, but I don't know how. I adjusted
some of the settings for the default user account while working on
something else. Maybe that did it. Maybe not.
