Every time my computer reboots I have several programs that start
automatically. How do I stop this. Someone said to remove the items from my
start up menu but I'm very computer illiterate and do not know how. Can
someone help with step by step directions?

Thanks!

Tracey

Hi

Go into those programs and have a look under Options/Preferences to see if
you can stop them being loaded at Windows startup.

Hi Will Denny!

Like I said, I'm completely computer illiterate. You're going to laugh but
I have my hand on the mouse...do I right click the start menu? and then
what? where do I go from there? I do know how to answer email....that's one
good thing!

Thanks.

Hi

Open the program that you don't want to start up with Windows, then have a
look at the menu bar for possibly 'Tools' - then see if there is an
Options/Preference sub menu. If there is uncheck/disable anything that
references Windows startup. Do the same for each program that you don't
want to startup with Windows.

Thanks Will Denny. I appreciate the info. There was another posting that I
missed earlier that said to click on [start] [run] type in "msconfig" hit the
"startup" tab and then uncheck the items I didn't want. That seems to have
worked and was easy enough for even me to figure out too. You guys are a
great help!

Take Care,

Tracey

Ya it's easy but some programs will reenable them so if they appear again you
have to go to their options as other said.
