How do I remove Outlook Express from Windows 2000 (or access to it)?

Hi

I'm in the middle of setting up a unattended RIS installation of Windows
2000 SP4, and I need to remove access to OE. I don't really want to
remove it completely, since some components of OE is used by other
programs to read news groups if I'm not mistaking. But I would very much
like to remove access to OE from the Start Menu, the Quicklaunch bar and
the desktop.

According to this tech net paper, it should be a simple matter of using
the switch OEAccess = Off in my [Components] section in my .sif file,
but that does'nt work.

I've also tried the more drastic approach, and deleted this reg key
(HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}\StubPath) which should
have the same effect, but that didn't work either.

I've been unable to figure out if its the AD and some group policy that
forces the creation of the OE icons, but I find it unlikely.

I've been able to remove the access to OE by entering the uninstalling
OE from Add/remove Programs -> Windows components. If thats the only
way, how do I automate that task. I bet there is a command I can run,
that'll do the trick.

It seems that installing IE6.1 during installation overwrites the
OEAccess = Off, so now I just need a way to remove OE AFTER IE6.1
installation.
 
Check out KB263837, it tells you the files & regkeys to
remove.
