How do I remove large gaps of space between a few slides?

I made a Powerpoint presentation of 26 slides.

When clicking on the scroll down bar on the right to move through my
presentation, in two places in this presentation there are long gaps of
space when moving from one slide to the next. The scrolling goes on and on and
on..

How do I erase or eliminate these gaps in my presentation?

Thanks!

This is caused by objects being left on the workspace, sometimes
inadvertently. Set your view zoom to 25% and then select and delete whatever
it is on the work space. If you have difficulty selecting the object, make
sure nothing is selected, then hit your Tab key to scroll through all the
objects. You'll come to it eventually.

PPT 2007 has a new "selection and visibility" task pane that should make
this easier. There's also a very cool document inspector that will check
your file for these "off the slide" objects and delete them all at once.

Hi Echo,

I tried your suggestion. I put the layout into 25% and tried clicking on the
scroll bar down button to advance through slides.(the Tab keys doesn't work
to advance the sliedes) Then nothing shows as a probelms. But if I have the
slides open full screen (not slide show) and advance by clicking on the
scroll bar, then I hit this 'scrolling empty gap' issue on slide 14 and later
too. So I can't find the 'hidden objects'. ???

The other issue I have concerns the Slide Show view, I selected the option
'advance on mouse click' but it doesn't work??? Why?

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks again!

Hi

I think that you have misunderstood Echo. She is suggesting that there are
objects "off slide", maybe invisible eg no fill no line shapes. Putting the
view to 25% enables you to see them if theyre visible. If you select an item
and then tab it will cycle through all objects showing selection handles on
even "invisible objects" which you can then probably delete.

A similar approach is to press ctrl A to select everything and then use ctrl
click to deselect everything you can see that you want and then press delete
to trash everything else.

Yup, that's what I meant.

However, this latest description of the problem seems different than the
original. It sounds as if the problem occurs when viewing the show, not when
editing, so I'm guessing maybe the file has been saved as a web page
(scrollbars).

To the Salsa Contessa: We can't see what's happening there, so you have to
be specific in your descriptions.
