I have an application with a green button labled "Go" and
a text box on my tray which I didn't install. It
appears to be an internet explorer launcher. Does
anyone know how to uninstall it?

If it's in the system tray, that means it is most likely starting
automatically when your computer boots. To stop this action, do this:
Go to Start - Programs - Startup and make sure it's not in there.
Go to your system configuration (start - run - msconfig). Go to the last
tab, Startup, and see if you can find it in there. If you uncheck it, it
will cease to start when your computer boots. You'll get a warning the next
time you boot about being in selective startup mode. You can either choose
"don't tell me again", or go into the registry to remove the entry manually
and take your machine out selective startup mode.

Post back if you need instructions on how to remove file manually from the
registry.

Hope this helps.

I'm running XP pro

Ron,

Wow - it is quite breathtaking to look at all the stuff you have loading at
bootup. Unless you have gobs of ram, your machine might be slowing down
significantly, and I'm sure it takes way too long to boot up fully. And
remember, everything you listed is running in the background consuming
computer resources (and potentially spying and tracking your activities.

Note: Regarding the green arrow - It just occurred to me that you might not
mean actually IN your system tray - it could be your address bar not being
fully maximized and only showing the arrow. You can right click on the task
bar - go to toolbars, and uncheck address bar.

Back to you computer - Barring maybe one or two items listed, not one single
things needs to be loading at startup. Avgnt - antivirus I assume -
dpps2.exe - popup stopper (have you checked out Google's free offering?) -
sqlmgr... other than that, you should consider removing all the other
entries. From msconfig as well as from the startup menu.

Some of them are even blatant spyware/parasite type
apps -RoboTaskBarIcon.exe - that doesn't sound good. dqstrhe.exe - that
sounds even worse.

Good luck
