Let me explain...I have 3 volumes on two drives: with 2 of them, when I open
the volume (by doucle-clicking the relevant drive icon in "My Computer", the
explorer window displays as if the a folder template has been selected (on
one volume the "Video Tasks" options appear in the Explorer bar, in the
other the "Music Tasks" options appear).
Now I know how to remove this feature from sub-folders within the volume
(from the folder options dialog, select the "Customize" tab and select
"Documents..." in the "Use this folder as a template:" combo), but the
"Customize" tab does not appear in the options dialog for the volume itself,
so how do I get rid of the customization?
This isn't just an appearance thing - because Windows thinks I'm storing
video or music files in the volumes, everything comes to a halt for minutes
at a time when I open them, presumably while Windows searches for
non-existent music tracks and video clips.
