I have WinXP Pro on my Pc twice. At switch on I get the offer of both.
I want to keep the one I use and get rid of the other. How do I do it
without compromising my syste?
Please don't ask why I have this set-up. I've been unable to get an
understandable answere from the techi who installed WinXP.

Thanks.

PS

I am not computer literate. I use it as a tool to get jobs done.
WinXP has been for the last year problem free.

Just in terms of the boot, MSConfig's "BOOT.INI" tab will let you
remove the unwanted OS. (It doesn't remove any files, just the
ability to boot to the other OS.) You'll need to be logged in as an
administrator.

Hi,

Do both entries work? If not, then click start/run, type msconfig and click
ok. Go to the boot.ini tab and click "check all boot paths". It will offer
to remove the invalid one. If they both work, then removing an entry
requires manually editing boot.ini.
