How do I remove an unwanted Yahoo logo from toolbar?

How do I remove the "Y!" that appeared at the right end of the top toolbar
("File", "Edit" etc) in IE after I subscribed to My Yahoo, Yahoo mail, etc

No, I had previously installed the Yahoo! companion toolbar, but removed it.
There is no reference to it in Add/Remove nor do the instructions as
suggested at the end of your post help as there is no toolbar in by browser
window. A further observation is that the "Y!" on the standard Yahoo!
companion toolbar is red on the toolbar's grey background (see on
http://companion.yahoo.com/config/slv4_page?.p=intro&.src=o ), but my
problem "Y!" is yellow on a square purple background....

Tried ToolbarCop, but found no reference to Yahoo in the list provided by
ToolbarCop....

Is the "Y!" the logo square of the browser in the upper right corner?
If so, your IE has been branded. See Ramesh's answer on how to remove
branding.
