how do I remove a splash screen

Help,
This was not on my computer before.
Before what? I don't know. But what happens is, I get this blue screen that
the computer goes to when it is idle, it is the begining screen that says
entertainment center.

I don't want it to do this. how can I stop it from doing this?

This must have come on one of those critical updates.
 
Sounds like a screensaver or a sleep option. Does it reset or go away when
you tap a key or move your mouse?
 
right click on a blank area of the screep and select properties

select the screen saver tab

set it to "none" by using the drop down list box (down arrow)

press ok

that's not quite it either. I have angels as my screen saver and they are
working.

Control Panel> Power Options: uncheck box requiring a password to resume

Display> Screensavers: uncheck box for similar option that applies to
screensavers
