The picture is like a logo embedded into the master. It is a picture
but not added to the normal presentation slide. I can't seem to open
the master to pop it free. Any help will be appreciated.
I am running PPT 2003 but not sure what version the master was created
in.

I'm not sure what you mean by not being able to "open the master to pop it
free." I'll assume that you can open the master by choosing View> Master>
Slide Master. It sounds as if the image was inserted as a Picture background
on the master. To get rid of it, go into the master, right-click the slide
and choose Background. Below the Background Fill preview, click the
drop-down arrow and choose Automatic. This will apply the default background
for that template and remove the picture. Is this what you meant?

Hi, Talon,

It may be embedded as part of the background image itself.

Open Slide Master view (View | Master | Slide Master) and then right-click
and choose Background. In the color dropdown, choose Fill Effects, then the
Picture tab. If a picture shows there -- with the background and the logo --
then that's how the background was created and the logo is actually part of
it.

If that is the case, you'll have to go to a blank slide (in Normal editing
View) use File | Save As, choose PNG, and save a blank background, then
remove the logo using photo editing software.

Does that make sense?

Thank You Echo. Worked perfectly. You and the other volunteers on
this forum are great. So unselfish and giving. Thanks again for
your knowledge and help.
