I have a computer downstairs and upstairs and i'd like to know what i need
and how to control one or the other from each location. That and access
files from one computer to the other. I tried looking into remote assistance
and stuff but theres not any actual instruction on how to do it in XP help.
Thank You.

For access/control using XP Pro Remote Desktop look at this page...The Remote Desktop host *MUST* be
an XP Pro box...

For access/control using Remote Assistance look at this page...Note that *BOTH* PCs must be running
XP Pro or XP Home. The Novice must give the Expert permission to both view and control the Novice
desktop.

Another alternative to both Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance is UltraVNC.

For file and print sharing help look at these sites...

....or open "Help and Support" and search on "File and Print Sharing"...

Please post questions concerning networking issues to the microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web
news group. Post questions concerning Remote Desktop to this news group...

Good luck...
