J Jerry Grabill Jul 8, 2007 #3 Put your Windows XP disk in your Cd Player and reboot your computer. Press any keys when it asks to read the cd. The XP Program will give you an option to reformat the disk. Do a complete format of the disk before installing XP.

J John Barnes Jul 8, 2007 #4 When you get to where you are selecting the partition to install XP, delete the partition and recreate it. Then format it. Quick format is sufficient.
