How Do I Reboot My XP Laptop And Wipe My HD Clean?

I'm sorry my last question wasn't that clear.
i was wandering if i could wipe my hd clean and uninstall windows but then
if i bought a new microsft xp package could i reinstall windows with the new
cd?

If i can, i would be greatful for any advice or help

You may format the drive when you boot from the XP CD, but usually you
will need the special hardware drivers for your laptop. Why don't you
want to install the operating system that came with the laptop?

If you buy a retail Windows CD it will come with installation instructions.
As part of the installation process, Windows will reformat and repartition
your hard disk.
