How would I reboot my computer from scratch? It's way too slow and I'm not
sure how I would go abouts doing it. I have an HP notebook.

Isabel, your question is somewhat confusing. My interpretaion is that you
wish to re-install windows xp, thus returning your laptop back to factory
conditions. In other words to clear the rubbish from your hard drive and
make it run faster, as it did when you first purchased it. Am i right?
If this is the case we need to find out what type of disk(s) came with the
PC. There are usually three options:

1/ You have been supplied with an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) Copy
of windows xp

2/ Your laptop manufacturer supplied you with a Recovery CD

3/ Your laptop manufacturer placed a hidden partition on your hard drive
with the Windows Operating system on.

To find out which option you will need to check your laptops user manual -
look for re-installing the operating system, or using recovery
disk(s)/partition.

If you have recovery disk(s) or a recovery partition your user manual will
tell you how to proceed. However, before you do anything make sure you have
backed up to a CD or DVD any files/documents that you need to keep, because
doing a complet re-install will wipe everything off your hard drive. You
will also need top re-install any software that your purchased yourself
after buying your laptop (bundles software will usually be installed via the
recovery disk(s) or partition.

If you have a full retail copy of windows xp or an OEM copy then you will
find an illustrated guide to installing the operating system on my website.
