How do I re-enable my floppy disc drive?

I can't seem to remember what I disabled to reverse engineer the problem.
I disabled some service late at night while working to speed up my system,
and now can't access the floppy disc drive:

- Floppy disc A: does not show on "My computer"
- I don't see it in "Computer Management"
- The driver is already present and is the latest version according to
"Device Manager"
- Windows XP cannot load the driver

- Floppy drive and all hardware works fine (Proof by dual booting into a
second instance of Windows XP on the same computer).

try checking the bios if you have your floppy drive disabled there.

hope that helps.

Thanks Dennis,

My BIOS already correct as the second instance of WinXP attests.
I did two things wrong and haven't been able to correct:

1. Disabled or removed a service process for FDD
2. Hid display of "Floppy disc (A:)" from "My Computer"

Thanks again for the attempt.
